Mission Statement
Sequim Senior Services, d/b/a Shipley Center, is the senior center in Sequim, WA. The Center serves over 1900 adults with activities, events and services that promote friendship, recreation, health and education. The mission of Shipley Center is to enrich the lives of adults through social, health and fitness activities, trips, educational classes, low-income housing opportunities, and referrals to community resources. All are welcome. Members receive discounts on all activities. Membership is just $50 for individuals and $85 for two people annually. Free memberships are available to those who qualify under our "Healthy Aging For All" program. Donations to sponsor memberships for low income seniors are needed. About This Cause
Shipley Center, formerly Sequim Senior Activity Center, is the 501c3 nonprofit senior center serving Sequim, WA and the surrounding areas of Clallam County and parts of Jefferson County. Shipley Center is a great place to meet new friends and participate in fun activities, classes, and events! Coming to Shipley Center helps seniors avoid isolation and loneliness, as it fosters the formation of friendships and connectedness. We are currently planning to move to a larger location! We have purchased the former JCPenney building, which has 29,000 sq. ft.! We will be able to offer even more activities and classes to enhance people's health & wellness & FUN! New building space will enable us to offer more exercise and healthy eating classes and activities. This will include volleyball, pickleball, basketball, aerobics, yoga, ping pong, and more. We welcome your help in this project, which will be ongoing throughout 2025 and 2026. We also welcome your ongoing general fund support of our mission to serve others! Thank you! We are supported through membership dues, activity fees, donations, bequests, and room rentals. We welcome your payroll deduction and/or one-time gifts!
