About This Cause
With a staff of seven and more than 1,000 dedicated volunteers, RVFB serves roughly 23,000 people every month from its tiny 1,200-square foot facility in the heart of Seattle's most diverse neighborhood. Individuals needing food assistance may choose from four different programs: 1) On-site Food Distribution Days (Wednesdays and Saturdays, 9:30AM - 2:00PM), for people wishing to shop and select their own groceries; 2) Home Delivery, for people with severe disabilities who are unable to get to the food bank; 3) our Backpack Program, which provides weekend groceries to low-income and housing-insecure students and their families; and 4) To-Go Bags, for people without access to a kitchen and in need of ready-to-eat foods. Our new RVFB 360 Program offers wrap-around services to help our guests with any needs other than food, with a full-time social worker on staff to provide referrals and support.
