The Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra is a non-profit organization established to enhance the lives of youth by providing dynamic musical experiences, fostering collaboration, confidence and personal responsibility through the pursuit of artistic excellence.
About This Cause
Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra is a non-profit organization established to provide extracurricular opportunities for dedicated youth musicians to learn and grow, building upon both school music programs and private instruction. We have been serving students ages six to 21 since 1964. BYSO is staffed by a large number of professional music instructors and a small administrative team. Though we focus intensively on our students' musicianship, our commitment is to guide and support the whole child. BYSO adults interact with students as the serious musicians they are, yet treat them as the dynamic, fun kids they are too. In addition to our regular season which involves several hundred students and 15 concerts, we offer three weeks of orchestra camp each summer. BYSO welcomes youth of all races, ethnicities, religions and financial circumstances. We annually offer scholarships to deserving young artists facing financial hardship. Our programs embraces diversity, reflecting the needs and composition of the communities we serve.
