Mission Statement
The Alliance for a Just Society is a center for innovative organizing. Our team of experienced organizers partners with movement organizations to improve their impact using strategic planning, training, political education, and mentoring, focused on effective campaigns and rooted in racial and social justice.
About This Cause
The Alliance for a Just Society (AJS) helps community organizations imagine a just future and create new strategies for making that future a reality. AJS creates spaces for grassroots leaders and organizers to deepen their understanding of social change, organizing, strategy, and tactics. AJS collaborates with movement organizations through tailored training, political education, and consultation programs that emphasize racial justice, learning from movement history, and innovative practice. AJS also leads sessions that take organizers through analysis of their programs and campaigns and help them sharpen their strategy. AJS works side-by-side with organizers to create base-building plans, leadership development programs, staff management, and organizational systems that give movement groups the impact they need in their work for economic, racial, and social justice. We fiscally sponsor the Native Organizers Alliance, Down Home North Carolina and other nonprofit projects.
