HEPATITIS EDUCATION PROJECT

SEATTLE, Washington, 98144 United States

Mission Statement

The Hepatitis Education Project (HEP) is a non-profit organization that is committed to providing support, education, advocacy and services for people affected by hepatitis. Based out of Seattle, Washington, HEP helps raise hepatitis awareness among patients, medical providers, and the general public.

About This Cause

The Hepatitis Education Project (HEP) was founded in 1993 by a group of patients and medical professionals who wanted to provide support and education for others living with viral hepatitis. In 1999, HEP opened the Hepatitis Resource Center in Seattle—a walk-in support center for hepatitis patients and family members, and the first of its kind in the country. Our programming has grown substantially since then to include policy, advocacy, and direct services for those living with and at risk for viral hepatitis. Our clients include some of our community’s most vulnerable and underserved. Today our services include patient navigation for viral hepatitis and for MOUD (medical for opioid use disorder) treatment, syringe access and overdose prevention, viral hepatitis testing and vaccination, and health education.
