Mission Statement
Asia Pacific Language School (APLS) is a private school certified by the Washington State Board of Education; and, its learning center is a childcare center licensed by the Department of Early Learning. APLS was established in 1995 to provide Chinese and Japanese language classes for children. Our goal is to create a continuous learning environment in which children of all ages can explore and learn the Chinese or Japanese language. At APLS, we believe that each child can learn and master a second language. The gift of a second language will give our children an advantage for future opportunities in the globalized society. Starting from preschool age, children can continue learning the target language up to high school age, and may receive high school credit or get assistance with preparing for the AP exam. Our dual-language Kindergarten and First Grade classes provide accredited courses for children to pursue academic success along with a second language (Chinese or Japanese).

Programs in Asia Pacific Language School Immersion Chinese & Japanese Preschool Our preschool provides a Chinese/English/Japanese speaking environment for your child in which to acquire a second language through literature, math, culture, arts, music, and themed lessons. Dual Language Kindergarten and 1st grade Our dual-language Kindergarten and 1st grade is accredited by the Association of Educational Service Districts (AESD) and adopts Common Core curriculum in dual language education. Students in our program study literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies in two languages. Students learn all subjects in Chinese and English or Japanese and English. Our school is certified by Washington State Board of Education as a private school, and our curriculum is approved by Washington State Board of Education. After-School Chinese & Japanese Classes We follow the curricula for teaching Chinese or Japanese as a Second Language recommended by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Summer Language and Cultural Camp (Kinder & Up) Our camp provides weekly themes for children to learn languages and cultures with fun activities. We also offer summer sessions for preschoolers China Exploration This is an opportunity for the whole family to learn the Chinese language and its culture in China. Students gain a basic knowledge of China, including its geography, ethnic groups, history, economy, people, society, government, and business development.
