SEATTLE, Washington, 98122-3617 United States

Mission Statement

Gay City’s mission is to cultivate access and connections to promote self-determination, liberation and joy in LGBTQ+ communities.

About This Cause

For more than 25 years Gay City has been a leader in providing responsive and innovative programming to serve the changing needs of LGBTQ folks throughout King County and Washington State. We are the definitive hub for LGBTQ individuals in the region seeking affirming and responsive resources, wellness, and community. Gay City supports LGBTQ folks experiencing intersecting health inequities and oppressions through our arts, resource referral, youth advocacy, sexual health and wellness programming. From our early roots in gay community organizing, Gay City has grown into a comprehensive LGBTQ Center for the region, offering health services, connecting people to resources, producing innovative arts programming, managing statewide initiatives on LGBTQ cultural competency, health and HIV, and operating a large community hub in Seattle. We are an accessible, trusted resource for LGBTQ communities in the region, and the first place many queer and trans people look to for support. Gay City promotes the comprehensive health – physical, mental, and social – of LGBTQ people. The communities we serve are LGTBQ folks who also belong to other communities, such as: Asian, BIPOC (Black, Indiginous, and People of Color), Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander, Latinx, Low Income, Refugee, Immigrant, Undocumented, People with Disabilities, Seniors, and Youth.
