Mission Statement
BLC provides accessible legal advocacy to people living with physical and mental disabilities so that they may obtain the resources necessary to overcome barriers to financial and medical stability. We further our mission through targeted advocacy projects that help people with Social Security disability problems.
About This Cause
BLC is a resource for the community to get help with Social Security benefits. BLC maintains two projects that are narrowly tailored to meet the needs of our community and ensure that those with disabilities get the help that they need. BLC wants to ensure that people with disabilities who are homeless or low income do not fall through the cracks. BLC’s values are reflected in reliable client-centered advocacy, commitment to the dignity and humanity of every client, and an ongoing dedication to remain accessible, inclusive, and collaborative. BLC provides high-quality legal representation and advocacy to people with disabilities who are below 200% of the federal poverty level and lower.
