Mission Statement
Our mission is to house and find suitable homes for abused, abandoned, neglected and unwanted domestic animals; to provide education about the care and housing of animals in domestic situations; to humanely end the suffering of unadoptable animals; and to strive toward an end of unwanted pets through a vigorous community spay and neuter program.
About This Cause
Forget Me Not Animal Shelter is a no-kill shelter in Republic, WA. We are the only animal shelter in all of Ferry County, WA - an area the size of Delaware. We have three main programs: HAPPY HOMES ADOPTION PROGRAM - we take in stray, impounded, and unwanted cats and dogs from Ferry County, and also transfer in some pets from shelters and rescues in other counties when we have extra space. Every pet is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, plus have existing medical issues treated, prior to being adopted into carefully screened homes. FEAR NO FERAL PROGRAM - we help Ferry County property owners manage feral cat colonies on their properties by funding trap-neuter-return for the entire colony. Each cat is spayed/neutered, vaccinated against rabies, ear-tipped, and returned to the original colony. Kittens young enough to be socialized are transferred into the Happy Homes Adoption Program. STOP THE CYCLE SPAY/NEUTER VOUCHER PROGRAM - we assist Ferry County low income residents with the costs of getting every cat and dog in their family spayed/neutered; copayments can be as low as $25 per pet. We also take in unwanted litters of kittens and puppies, and when a litter is surrendered, we pay the full cost of the mother and father animals' spay/neuter surgeries.
