HUMANE SOCIETY - WESTERN REGION

Mission Statement

Our main mission is to help low-income people keep their pets. We do this by running an animal food bank, providing free or assisted vet care and helping with other items or services that are needed. We now restrict our services to mainly King and Snohomish Counties in Washington State due to lack of resources to do more. We also run a small sanctuary for old or disabled dogs and cats in Arlington, WA. We are no-kill.

About This Cause

We were founded in 1996 and are a 501(c)(3), Washington State non-profit and United Way Agency. We have the Gold Seal of Transparency from GuideStar. We help low-income people keep their pets in many ways - by running an animal food bank, providing free or assisted vet care (as funds allow) providing other items such as vitamins, pet clothing, kennels, fencing, medications, blankets and other items as the need arises. We also run a small no-kill sanctuary for old and disabled dogs and cats on a seven acre farm in Arlington, WA. Dogs live in heated barns with 1,000-4,000 sq. ft runs. There are also walking trails and a play field. We also feed about 100 feral (wild) cats in King and Snohomish Counties each day that are located in rural areas, mobile home parks and shopping centers.
