Mission Statement

SPOT currently takes in animals from several local sources. We are contracted with the City of Burlington; we rescue stray and abandoned pets; partner with area shelters; and owner surrenders. Through fund raisers, public donations, outreach programs, business support etc., cats and dogs are fostered, given medical attention, grow to know love and care in order to be adopted by their forever families. We also have started several community programs to assist low income families in our local community. These include: Sadie Fund, which provides financial assistance for urgent or emergency veterinary care; Emergency Boarding providing temporary care for a pet; Spay & Neuter which assists low income pet owners and Trap Alter and Return, helping with the population control of free-roaming cat colonies.

About This Cause

The mission of our all-volunteer organization is to provide the Skagit Valley and the surrounding areas an alternative method of caring for and adopting out companion animals. We strive to provide an alternative adoption option without risk of euthanizing healthy and adoptive pets.
