About This Cause
The Sumner Community Food Bank (SCFB) is a non-profit organization that provides nutritious food with dignity to our neighbors in need through donations and the work of dedicated volunteers. We strive to be good stewards of food surpluses, and increase public awareness on issues of hunger in our community. When a surplus exists, we save countless dollars for other food banks and charitable nonprofits by providing an efficient distribution and sharing of food. Our food bank is primarily a volunteer-based organization with only a few paid employees. We rely upon individuals, businesses, churches, and service clubs in the community for the resources needed to sustain our mission. We offer healthy fresh and packaged food and beverages, pet food, child care items and personal hygiene products that have been donated from local businesses and farms, food drives and individuals. Sumner Community Food Bank is an independent registered non-profit charitable 501(c)3 organization. Any donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
