About This Cause

BreastHealthOnline was was founded in 2000 due to a lack of direct individual help available for those facing a multitude of breast issues that span from mammograms and biopsies to corrective, invasive or radical breast surgery and recovery. We do help those afflicted with cancer, but breasts are simply not just one disease, and waiting until one has cancer to help someone ‘be healthy’ is shameful. We are not a cancer research organization. Traditionally, breast organizations focus solely on funding research for breast cancer. While the Susan G. Komen foundation has raised over 2 billion dollars in the past 30 years, there not only is no cure for breast cancer, it’s been to the exclusion of every other breast condition, including developing preventive and proactive breast health care programs to help people remain healthy in the first place. Despite their coffers, even Susan G. Komen does not provide preventive breast health care for women, and absolutely nothing is provided for men. But worse, a monopoly exists. The lion’s share of grants, funding and fundraising opportunities available are for breast cancer, which completely shuts out preventive breast health initiatives, as well as organizations who address the many breast conditions faced everyday. While cancer is an important issue, we're far more likely to have a non-cancerous breast issue crop up that needs attention in our lifetime than to develop breast cancer. Yet there never has been major funding or education for cancer prevention, and especially none for breast and health issues that raise the risk of breast cancer. Our work is multi-focal. Our organization provides preventive, educational and supportive breast health care, as well as surgical support care for the global community. We teach life-long skills necessary to remain healthy. We address the whole person. The skills learned are often incorporated into the person’s family life, thus passing on generations of prevention and better health for everyone. From a preventive health standpoint, we work individually on a person’s diet and help them develop new healthy skills and habits, one meal at a time. We address and support weight loss and help people improve their environments on many levels. From a surgical standpoint, we counsel people on their conditions and their medical/surgical options for a number of breast conditions. We help them navigate their consults and their surgeries from pre-op to post-op and everything in between, including following our Healing Diet and lymphatic system care for their recovery as well as for long term health goals. We also take patients who are experiencing minor to major surgical complications and teach them how to resolve these issues fully in a fraction of the time. In the last sixteen years, we have directly helped more than 500,000 patients and their families around the world through a myriad of individual circumstances. We are looking to expand our programs in every direction to meet the needs of today, and to help people protect their future health. Our biggest goal is to build a national headquarters to skillfully serve the global community, as well as greatly enrich and improve the lives of those in the immediate local community through an abundance of onsite programs, services and unique venues for everyone. It is so needed. We are looking for a progressive, health conscious community in the U.S. that would welcome and utilize the center's resources extensively. Last, but not least, it’s imperative to our mission that everyone we work with knows that they matter. Interacting with people directly and personally on their individual issues with care, respect and compassion have been the cornerstone of our organization since 2000.
