The Seattle Betsuin Buddhist Temple serves Seattle and surrounding communities and provides both religious programs and secular programs such as youth activities (Camp Fire, Boy Scouts, etc.) and social services.

About This Cause

The Seattle Buddhist Church, aka Seattle Betsuin Buddhist Temple, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides both religious and secular programs and services to the Greater Seattle/Puget Sound community. It is a Jodo Shinshu Buddhist temple affiliated with the Nishi Hongwanji mother temple in Kyoto Japan. Jodo Shinshu is a sect of Pure Land Buddhism which is part of the Mahayana branch of Buddhism. The temple's secular programs such as youth activities and support of social services are open to all. These secular programs include youth activities such as Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Venturing, and Camp Fire. They also include secular social support services including services for the elderly and homeless individuals.
