LITTLE THEATRE OF WALLA WALLA

Walla Walla, Washington, 99362 United States

Mission Statement

Our mission is to showcase the talents of local volunteers and to entertain and enrich our community by producing good plays done well.

About This Cause

The year was 1944. A war was in progress and entertainment nearly non-existent in a town crowded with air force and military hospital personnel. In such an atmosphere The Little Theatre of Walla Walla took shape with a small group of dedicated Walla Wallans. The Little Theatre is dedicated to providing accessible arts experiences to everyone in our community, regardless of age, skills, experience levels or economic status. Our mission is to showcase the talents of local volunteers and to entertain and enrich our community by producing good plays done well. Since its inception seventy-five years ago, the theatre has offered the public a full spectrum of live theatre, everything from Broadway musicals and serious dramas to sophisticated comedies. The theatre has hosted three state one-act competitions and has sent their one-acts on to National competition. We produce four shows during our regular season and periodically add special productions for increased community participation. Our yearly attendance averages 6000 with 400-500 volunteers working on the productions. Each summer we host Missoula Children’s Theatre to produce a children’s show that involves 60-70 children, which is cast entirely locally. For 76 years The Little Theatre has created opportunities for everyone in the Walla Walla Valley the joy of participating in live community theatre.
