Mission Statement
The Zoo Society fosters the relationship between Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) and our community by raising funds and generating support for the important work of PDZA, including animal care and education programs.
About This Cause
The Zoo Society raises awareness and funds to help support the important work Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is doing in the areas of education and conservation. Your support helps PDZA maintain their high standards of care necessary for an accredited facility to participate in endangered species programs. These programs include their work with Clouded Leopards, Sumatran Tigers and Red Wolves. Donations to The Zoo Society help to make a difference around the world through PDZA’s mission to promote and practice effective conservation on behalf of the world’s wildlife. Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, the Northwest’s only combined zoo and aquarium, has spent a century providing individuals, and generations of families, with unique experiences and lasting memories. That’s why over 17,000 local families hold memberships to this incredible 29 acre park which boasts 9,000 specimens representing 367 species! The Zoo Society is proud to work in collaboration with PDZA and we are grateful for donor partnership in supporting this important part of the community fabric.
