Mission Statement
Music Works Northwest is a non-profit community music school, dedicated to changing lives through accessible music education and experiences.
About This Cause
Since 1966, Music Works has served thousands of Bellevue and Eastside residents with individual music instruction, music classes, summer camps, free concerts, and a vibrant music therapy program. Studies and statistics overwhelmingly point to the value of music education and experiences. Music enhances self-esteem, stimulates memory, raises test scores, teaches team work, improves decision-making and problem-solving skills, increases attention span and builds communication skills. Music Works helps to meet this need, providing music education and music therapy services for over 600 people each year, many of whom will receive tuition assistance so that these valuable education experiences are economically accessible to all. In addition, approximately 2,000 public school music students participate in special coachings and master classes, provided by Music Works at no cost to these students.
