Mission Statement

Our mission is to assist & support the students of Mayde Creek High School in their needs to build, compete & be successful in Robotics for exposure to a career in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math).

About This Cause

The Mayde Creek High School RoboRams are a team of diverse high school students who are working together to design, create, build, program and compete in the nationwide FIRST Robotics competitions. This organization was shut down during COVID and the team members have all graduated & are in college. As the organization was brought back to life in 2022, it is comprised of a diverse group of students who have never participated in a robotics competition before so students are learning first-hand how to engineer a working robot for competition. Student skills required in this organization include CAD design, mechanical inclination, power tools & shop equipment knowledge & safety, mechanical assembly, knowledge of materials, electrical connectivity & design, & programming. Other skillsets needed & utilized by the group are communications, marketing, and financial management. Mayde Creek High School is located in Houston, Texas and is a part of the Katy Independent School District. The school has a diverse student population with families moving in from all around the world. The school has an enrollment of over 2860 students in grades nine through twelve with a demographics of 58% Hispanic, 21% Black, & 12% White.
