Mission Statement
The mission of BOCO Flamenco is to preserve the heritage, promote the unique artistry and share the ancestral and living art of Flamenco through high quality performances, education and community events in Boulder and Colorado. BOCO Flamenco aims to facilitate a blossoming of art, focusing on Spanish culture, elevated Flamenco art and human experience in Colorado’s fertile mountain high terrain.
About This Cause
BOCO Flamenco is a 501(C)3 performing arts non-profit organization based in Boulder, Colorado. Boco Flamenco aims to create a dialogue between the super quality of life culture here in Colorado and the ancient deep and multi-faceted Spanish culture. Our work is to bring Flamenco music and dance to schools, universities, art galleries, museums, and theaters, encompassing other mediums as well such as photography, painting, writing while enriching local culture and broadening the horizons of children and adults through the discovery of other world cultures rich in values, respect, integration, art and mixity. Boco Flamenco organizes TWO international Festivals per year, a congregation where everyone is welcome to experience the incendiary power of Flamenco. The best Flamenco artists from Spain, travel to perform in Boulder, Colorado as well as Denver, Fort Collins and surrounding Front Range areas, where the community and visitors alike can witness the highest quality live Flamenco shows. There is an EDUCATIONAL portion to the festival, as the artists give workshops and offer free performances at schools and museums, where both children and adults alike can dive deep into different aspects of this ART and CULTURE, experiences different forms of Flamenco such as guitar, dance, percussion, piano, song and history. Another important pillar of the organization is creating gatherings where attendees can meet the artists, have an unforgettable experience together with food, music and dance while connecting with BOCO’s vibrant and diverse community.
