Mission Statement
Our mission at Madi’s Movement is to empower foster teens to achieve independence and success. While this captures the essence of what we do, it's important to understand that our approach is comprehensive. We provide tailored educational plans, career readiness training, and essential life skills development, all designed to address the unique challenges foster teens face. By focusing on financial literacy, personal development, and professional training, we are not just preparing these young individuals for life after foster care – we are ensuring they have the tools to thrive in all aspects of their lives.
About This Cause
Madi's Movement is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering teens aging out of the foster care system by providing them with the essential skills, resources, and support they need to transition into independent adulthood successfully. Founded by Effie, Madi's mom, in honor of her daughter, the movement seeks to bridge the gap for foster youth, ensuring they are not left behind as they age out of the system. Our mission is to inspire and equip these young adults with the tools they need to thrive. We achieve this through a series of innovative programs, including Financial Foundations, which teaches financial literacy and budgeting; SuperSkills Academy, offering practical life skills and career readiness training; and our signature Pathways to Employment Expo, a career readiness event that connects youth with potential employers and mentors. Madi's Movement is committed to creating a supportive community around these young adults, helping them build networks, gain confidence, and find their paths to success. We believe in the power of partnerships and work closely with other organizations, businesses, and community leaders to amplify our impact. Our programs are designed to be holistic, addressing not only the professional but also the personal development of each individual. Through our efforts, we aim to change the narrative for teens aging out of foster care, ensuring they have the opportunities and support they need to build a bright and promising future.
