Mission Statement
Kevin Regan was an amazing husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was passionate at serving his community as a Philadelphia Police Officer. Kevin's sudden and unexpected passing left his family with many unanswered questions. "Why him?", "How long did he struggle?", "Why would he leave us" and so many more. After some research and talking with his doctors we learned that Kevin struggled with post traumatic stress disorder a mental health battle in which a person has difficulty recovering after experiencing or witnessing a terrifying event. As a police officer, Kevin witnessed more trauma in one day than the average person witnesses in an entire lifetime but the depth of Kevin’s inner struggle was hidden until his death. While we cannot reverse this tragedy, it is not too late to offer hope, help and resources so these brave men and women can be properly diagnosed, treated and guided through a successful recovery. An estimated 400,000 first responders in America have at least some symptoms of PTSD. Another sad fact determined by the CDC revealed that suicide is the second leading cause of death for law enforcement personnel. The Kevin Regan Family Foundation wants to change these numbers and make a greater impact for our first responder community.
