Mission Statement
Our mission is to help build the Kingdom of God all over the world by bringing Living Water and Physical Water to create Self-Sustaining Christian Living. Our vision is to bring in the harvest across the nations by showing God’s love and mercy to all, strengthening spiritual, physical, emotional, and economic growth in the communities we serve. We value unity, partnership, cultural diversity, love, and stewardship. We believe in the unity within the Body of Christ and working together to grow the Kingdom. We desire partnerships with other ministries, churches, and Christians to share the burden and collaborate using our distinctive gifts. We embrace the uniqueness of our cultural diversity, showing God’s heart for every nation, tribe, and tongue. We strive to show Christ’s love through our actions to all we encounter. We practice stewardship of God’s blessings and instill this value into the communities, which brings a sense of ownership and personal responsibility. Kingdom Builders International Ministries serves the Pokot tribe of Baringo County, Kenya, a community with a rich cultural heritage and a predominantly pastoralist economy. Known for their colorful traditional attire, beadwork, and music, the Pokot tribe speaks the unique Pokot language, which sets them apart from other Kenyan communities. Organized into clans and sub-clans, the tribe maintains a patriarchal social structure, with men holding most positions of authority. Despite their vibrant cultural traditions, the Pokot tribe faces numerous challenges that hinder their quality of life and growth. These include high rates of political violence and cattle rustling, which contribute to significant security concerns. Additionally, the tribe grapples with issues such as limited access to clean water, inadequate sanitation facilities, frequent droughts, low literacy rates, poverty, and cultural barriers that affect girls' education and overall development. To address these challenges and empower the Pokot tribe, KBIM implements various projects to provide access to clean water, education, healthier living, and community development. By working closely with community members and local leaders, KBIM creates self-sustaining initiatives that reduce poverty and improve the quality of life for the Pokot people. Some of the critical challenges KBIM seeks to address include: Limited access to clean water: Approximately 60% of the Pokot tribe lacks access to safe drinking water. Inadequate sanitation facilities: Only 47% of the population in Baringo County has access to basic sanitation facilities. Frequent droughts: The Pokot tribe is often affected by droughts, exacerbating their vulnerability. Low literacy rates: In many Pokot areas, the literacy rate is as low as 10%, with one community KBIM serves having a rate of only 2%. Poverty: The Pokot tribe faces challenges in accessing education due to poverty, further limiting their opportunities; most education after elementary school is tuition-based, and girls are rarely considered to go on to high school or beyond. Cultural barriers: Traditional beliefs and practices, such as forced child bride marriages and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), hinder girls' education and limit their potential for personal and professional growth. By tackling these interconnected challenges through comprehensive and culturally sensitive programs, KBIM strives to create lasting, positive change for the Pokot tribe, promoting a more secure, educated, and prosperous future.
About This Cause
KBIM is a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the challenges of water scarcity, education, and community development in the Pokot community. We envision a thriving, self-sustaining community that embodies Christian values and principles. We have implemented various projects to achieve this vision, including water harvesting, water filtration, well construction, educational support, community development initiatives, and safe havens for vulnerable girls. KBIM aims to bring about transformation in the Pokot community through servant evangelism. KBIM seeks to address the challenges faced by the community by implementing various projects that provide access to clean water, education, and healthcare while also working to eradicate harmful cultural practices like FGM. The ultimate goal is to create Self-Sustaining Christian Living in the region, promoting spiritual, physical, emotional, and economic growth. Our recent achievements include: Providing clean water to over 2,500 people through water filters. Bringing water to over 4,000 people through water harvesting pans, water catchment systems, water piping systems, and a borehole well. Bringing farming and community gardens to over 1000 people by providing training and equipment Sponsoring the construction of 9 churches where over 2,000 congregants worship, 2 became schools and community development centers. Elementary school enrollment went from zero to 300 students in two communities. Sewing Programs in 4 communities with equipment and training In the coming years, we plan to expand our programs to reach more people, build a mission center, and girls rescue center to create a lasting impact. Our expansion plans include: Expanding our water harvesting program to teach communities how to build large water harvesting pans for daily consumption and irrigation. Expanding our farming program to teach communities how to garden with their new water source for improved nutritional food sources. Increasing the provision of medical-grade water filters to ensure access to clean water for communities. Continuing to install water piping systems to carry clean water from existing wells to schools and other locations. Drilling new borehole wells, bringing a permanent source of water. Introducing a sewing program to provide vocational training and income-generating opportunities for women and youth in the community. Expanding our education programs and church planting efforts to new regions, adapting and improving our strategies for maximum impact. Partnering with organizations to establish a rescue center to protect girls from Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and early marriage. Continuing to sponsor high school students who have had to flee from FGM and early marriage. In Kenya, access to high school education is often limited to those with monetary means. In Baringo County, many adolescent girls are subjected to Female Genital Mutilation and forced into polygamous marriages, further limiting their opportunities. Kingdom Builders International Ministries (KBIM) is committed to addressing these issues and supporting vulnerable girls. KBIM aims to facilitate sponsorships that enable girls to attend high school and achieve their dreams. We connect each girl with a personal sponsor who provides monetary, psychological, and spiritual support, allowing them to focus on their education and achieve their full potential. We believe that education is a powerful tool for empowerment and positive change. Moreover, the Pokot tribe faces significant challenges in education and literacy, with many children lacking access to elementary schools. KBIM is working to establish schools to provide children with quality education and help break the cycle of poverty and illiteracy. We believe investing in education can create a brighter future for the Pokot tribe. Many communities we serve have limited access to education, and our new schools represent a significant step forward in providing opportunities for growth and development. However, there is still much work to be done, and without access to quality education, these communities will continue to face challenges. We believe that education is a fundamental right that can unlock the potential of individuals and communities. By partnering with us, you can help bring about generational change and provide much-needed resources such as school supplies and infrastructure development. Your support can impact the lives of the Pokot tribe and other communities in the surrounding region. Join us in our mission to provide access to quality education and empower children and communities to build a better future. The Pokot tribe in Baringo County faces significant challenges in accessing safe drinking water, with approximately 60% of the population lacking reliable access. Frequent droughts exacerbate this crisis, impacting the tribe’s livelihoods and highlighting the urgent need for interventions to improve water availability and resilience. This situation underscores the importance of Living Water through the Gospel, church, and community, as well as Physical Water for drinking, irrigation, farming, and self-sustaining Christian living. Our partnerships have enabled us to offer a new, cost-effective solution for providing clean water to multiple villages. By utilizing water harvesting through ditches and advanced filtration systems with dialysis technology, we can address the tribe’s need for drinking water, irrigation, and farming. This approach not only provides a long-term solution to water scarcity but also empowers villagers through training and education on water harvesting and filter usage. By partnering with us, you can help transform the lives of the Pokot people, through the Word of God, supporting their health, well-being, and resilience in the face of environmental challenges. In 2023, KBIM played a vital role in supporting the growth of the Kingdom of God in Baringo County, Kenya. Thanks to our generous donors, we helped fund the construction of five churches that served as centers for spiritual nourishment and community development. Through these churches, hundreds of people found salvation and discipleship, transforming their lives and community. Some of the churches also became educational hubs offering pre-k and primary education programs, as well as sewing training. These initiatives aim to help empower the Pokot by providing them with skills and knowledge that improve their livelihoods. By empowering individuals through education and vocational training, KBIM is helping to break the cycle of poverty and improve the community's overall well-being. Furthermore, KBIM’s vision to bring “Living Water” to create Self-Sustaining Christian Living is being fulfilled through its work with the Pokot Tribe. By providing access to spiritual and physical resources, the Pokot can build a stronger and more resilient community that can thrive and grow in its faith. However, there is still much work to be done. Many people in the region have yet to hear the Gospel. Many in the vast land of Baringo County and surrounding areas still need to be reached with the Good News, and so many others need a place to gather and worship as they meet underneath the covering of trees. This is where KBIM’s church-building project comes in. With your support we aim to assist with many more church constructions this year and in the years to come, ensuring that the Pokot and surrounding tribes have a place to gather, worship, and grow in their faith. KBIM invites you to join the mission to reach the unreached and fulfill the Great Commission. By collaborating and supporting this work, we can make a meaningful impact in the lives of the Pokot and many more, contributing to the growth of God’s Kingdom in this region. Together, we can bring hope, transformation, and the love of Christ to the Pokot tribe. In 2023, KBIM embarked on three missions to Kenya, fulfilling our vision of partnering with ministries to preach the Good News to all nations, evangelize, and win souls for the Kingdom, and we look forward to more this year. Our mission is to reach the unreached in remote areas and bring the Good News to communities that have never heard of Jesus. These trips have not only allowed us to serve those in need but have also provided us with a renewed sense of purpose and joy in our work. We are grateful for the opportunity to make a lasting impact and bring glory to God through our efforts. As part of our Christ-centered ministry, we are committed to community development projects that enable us to reach the lost and grow the Kingdom through missionary efforts. These projects not only provide practical assistance to those in need but also create opportunities for us to share the Gospel and make disciples of all nations. Through servant evangelism and our ongoing commitment to sharing the Gospel, we can work together to make a significant impact and bring about positive change in the lives of those we serve. By living out our faith through action and serving as examples of God’s love, we can bring hope and transformation to communities worldwide while bringing glory to His name. When natural disasters, conflicts, or other crises occur, the consequences can be devastating. Essential infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, and buildings, can be destroyed or damaged, cutting off access to necessities like food, water, shelter, and healthcare. During such times, the most vulnerable communities are often the hardest hit. People are forced to flee their homes, leaving behind everything they own, and finding themselves in a situation where they lack even the most basic necessities for survival. Kingdom Builders recognizes the urgent need for aid during these times of crisis. The organization is committed to supporting those affected by disasters, helping them access essential supplies and resources. This includes providing food, water, and other necessities to help people survive and begin the process of recovery.
