Mission Statement
Kids Inline Skating Inc: Our mission is to promote healthy, safe, and joyful lifestyles by providing a plethora of opportunities for our members. Through participating in our thriving skating community, we aim to encourage children (and even adults) to spend less time in front of screens and more time outdoors.
About This Cause
In 2011, the Carmel Kids Inline Skating community was created by a group of inline/roller skating enthusiasts passionate about sharing and expanding the sport. Our organization is active from April to September each year and we take great pride in fostering a strong sense of community among our members. Led by a devoted group of volunteer parents and multiple coaches, we offer multiple outdoor skate training classes and a variety of other related activities for anyone over the age of 6. Activities we host include our weekly kids beginner level skate class, weekly intimidate and advanced class, weekly skate/speed training sessions. Beginner's annual track skating event, Milestone. Annual point to point long distance skating event, Park to Park (P2P- with a wide range of distances depending on skill level). Annual group summer picnic outings and parties and winter indoor skating parties. Friday Night Skate (skating around town in groups). As skaters progress, we introduce and encourage participation in other fun inline/roller skating events around the country, such as the Northshore Inline Marathon (Duluth, Minnesota), the Athens to Atlanta Road Skate (A2A, Athens, Georgia), the New York City 100km Skate Marathon, the Route 66 Inline Marathon (St. Louis, Missouri), Washington D.C.'s Skate of the Union, etc. To ensure everyone stays safe while participating in skate-related activities, we teach our students all the essential inline/roller skating skills required to safely navigate any complex skating environment. These skills include trail etiquette, road-skating rules, starting, braking, turning, handling downhill slopes and obstacles, etc. By fostering skate safety, we aim to create an environment where everyone can grow and develop their skills while having fun and staying active. Through each skating season, our community has experienced a significant increase in the number of participants each year. From just one participant in 2011, we now have well over 100 skaters. The Ultimate Goal: to create a positive and supportive community that prioritizes the health, safety, and happiness of every member who participates in our program.
