Mission Statement
The Climate Action California Foundation, working for a just and rapid transition to a low-carbon economy, educates the public and decision makers on the science that informs our positions on climate change issues.
About This Cause
The Climate Action California Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity, is the educational arm of Climate Action California, a 501(c)(4) organization. The Foundation educates and informs the public, legislators, and agency staff on the science-based positions we take on critical climate issues. We publish and distribute educational materials, provide training on aspects of the legislative process, engage with legislative and executive agency staff writing and implementing climate laws, and hold nonpartisan candidate forums focused on climate issues. Focus areas for our work and advocacy are short-lived climate pollutants, transportation electrification, and policies, including climate finance initiatives, which will accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy. Environmental justice concerns inform all of our work. We are volunteer-led and volunteer-driven, and we work to the highest standard of science-based solutions to the climate emergency. Climate Action California is both a statewide community of volunteers and activists, and a coalition of groups and organizations working together to build an effective climate movement in California and beyond. Since our supporters list includes several thousand people outside of California, our educational programming includes national climate issues and updates about California's climate leadership.
