Mission Statement

The Portland Rose Festival Foundation is a non-profit that serves families and individuals with programs and events that promote the arts, education and volunteerism. We value environmental responsibility, diversity, patriotism and our historic & floral heritage.

About This Cause

The Portland Rose Festival has produced events and programs to bring together residents of the Portland-Metro area and visitors from around the world in celebration of the city's namesake flower for over 100 years. As the official festival of the city of Portland, Oregon, the Rose Festival's primary events span a two month period every May and June. The festival's cornerstone event, the Grand Floral Parade, brings a half million spectators together along the parade route to see all-floral floats, musical marching bands, and flower-decked equestrian units on the 2nd Saturday after Memorial Day annually. There's something for everyone at the Rose Festival, from a waterfront carnival to three parades to a competition of cut roses and high-speed auto racing - there are over 60 events to enjoy! Simply put, the Portland Rose Festival produces events and programs that make Portland a better place to live and visit.
