Mission Statement
Founded in 1914, the MJCC is a full-service community center in Southwest Portland, serving people of all ages, religions and backgrounds for fitness, social, and cultural programs.
About This Cause
Since its founding over 100 years ago, the Mittleman Jewish Community Center (MJCC) has served the social, cultural, education and fitness/athletic needs of Portland families without regard to religion, background or ability to pay. Although the MJCC’s stated mission is to fulfill these needs for Portland’s Jewish community, this mission has always been interpreted to encompass service to the entire Portland community.
