Mission Statement
Through evidence-informed, results-oriented philanthropy, The Portland Clinic Foundation supports nonprofits that improve community wellness and advance the social determinants of good health—whether through early-childhood education, environmental clean-up, racial equity advocacy, domestic violence prevention, or a groundbreaking local theater production.
About This Cause
At The Portland Clinic, community wellness is at the heart of our work. While we have been keeping Portlanders well for almost 100 years, keeping greater Portland well often means going beyond medicine. The Portland Clinic Foundation was created to do just that. The foundation (an independent nonprofit) gives tens of thousands of dollars annually in unrestricted grants to nonprofit organizations working to fill greater Portland’s most urgent needs. We are funded through the generosity of The Portland Clinic and through individuals like you: friends, family, colleagues, doctors, patients and community members who want to engage in cutting-edge philanthropy. By combining community contributions with The Portland Clinic Foundation’s in-depth research and careful analysis, we leverage your generosity for maximum benefit to local nonprofits. Our expenses are paid by The Portland Clinic, which means that 100 percent of your contribution goes to support Portland’s communities in need. We have a powerful mission, a world-class grantmaking model, and a wealth of expertise and passion in our corner.
