Mission Statement

Oregon Wildlife Foundation empowers the lasting conservation of fish and wildlife and the enjoyment of our natural resources.

About This Cause

Oregon Wildlife (Heritage) Foundation has been an important part of preserving the Oregon we all love for over forty years. Through partnerships with other non-profits, private industry, and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, we've directed millions of dollars to projects around our State aimed at conserving fish, wildlife, and the natural habitat that makes Oregon so special. Addressing the Need: The Foundation financially and administratively supports on the ground conservation work through three branches: ·Through grant making of over $120,000 annually to nonprofit organizations, volunteer groups and individuals, the Foundation supports on the ground projects. One recent grant recipient is the Oregon Coast Aquarium, which was granted $8300 for an underwater camera for marine conservation and research. · Through Fiscal Sponsorship, the Foundation can act as a sponsor to non 501(C)3 organizations, charging an administrative fee for management and oversight. These groups include: Friends of Baltimore Woods, Brown Folks Fishing, and Friends of Fanno Creek Watershed, Carcajou, NW Avian Resources, TLP Media, Linnton Frogs, Pacific Birds Habitat. · Through project sponsorship the Foundation funds conservation projects across the state, such as a current wolverine monitoring study in the Wallowa Mountains. The Foundation sponsors habitat restoration projects with partner groups often, bringing in funds from multiple sources to fund large scale work, some with upwards of $1,000,000 budgets. The Foundation works with federal agencies such as the United States Forest Service, state agencies such as Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and municipal groups such as Oregon Water and Electric Board, higher education such as University of Oregon, and recreational groups, such as Protect Animal Migration and the Oregon Hunters Association. And individual donors, through workplace giving programs, like you. We invite you to join us in empowering the lasting conservation of fish and wildlife in Oregon.
