Mission Statement
Oregon Potters Association educates, inspires and transforms lives through clay.
About This Cause
The Oregon Potters Association (OPA), a 501c3 organizatio that educates people through classes in schools and community centers and serves as a professional liaison between our membership and the public at large, as well as with galleries, businesses, arts agencies, educational groups and publications locally, nationally and globally. We spearhead educational opportunities and grants for BIPOC, AAPI and LGBTQ youth and adults. We help and enable ceramics artist members now numbering over 400 to publicize, exhibit and sell their work. The Oregon Potters Association supports opportunities to advance creativity through activities with clay. It is a professional, all-volunteer organization that promotes clay art education through community outreach, workshops, and networking. OPA encourages our members’ personal growth through continuing education opportunities and exposure to national and international ceramic art perspectives. OPA strives to provide quality, hands-on accessible experiences to under-served communities. OPA plans and runs events, exhibitions and workshops for the public at large.
