Mission Statement
The Alliance Francaise is a French language school and cultural center. There are 111 Alliances in the US and 800 world-wide. The Portland Alliance serves 2000 students group classes, workshops, and private tutoring every year.
About This Cause
The Alliance Francaise de Portland operates as a non-profit and is entirely self-funding. We do not receive any revenue from the French government. Our school is known for small-sized classes, native French teachers, and quality teaching. Our teachers are largely certified in teaching French as a foreign language. We maintain a substantial mediatheque of French film and French library available to our students and members. We offer many cultural events to students and the French community, including a Bastille Day celebration that's the largest on the West Coast. We co-sponsor the Beaujolais Nouveau festival in November with the French-American Chamber of Commerce.
