Mission Statement
Preserve, restore and operate historical railroad equipment including the SP&S 700 steam locomotive.
About This Cause
The Pacific Railroad Preservation Association is a charitable non-profit organization with the mission of preserving, restoring and operating the SP&S 700 steam locomotive owned by the city of Portland Oregon and related railroad equipment. We are an all volunteer organization dedicated to telling the history of the 700 and the railroads place building the northwest. To do so we work to occasionally operate the 700 for the public benefit. This requires much hard work and fund raising to keep this 1938 built steam locomotive in operational condition. The PRPA also actively participates in Operation Lifesaver, a program that teaches the public safety around railroad property and equipment.
