Mission Statement
Our mission is “to provide a 3-5 day supply of nutritious food to low-income families and individuals in South Clatsop County.” We provide emergency food and other resources to individuals in need by participating the state and regional food bank system, as well as collaborating with other agencies and groups to improve access to quality food. This mission is something that every one of our board members takes very seriously.
About This Cause
The South County Community Food Bank serves approximately 850 clients per month totaling an amazing 200,000 lbs. of food annually! We are able to do this because of our dedicated staff of 40+ volunteers and a great relationships with local businesses, service clubs, and the Clatsop Community Action’s Regional Food Bank. Unfortunately, not all of our food needs are met through donations, and that’s why we turn to you, our valuable community members. We rely heavily on monetary donations to purchase food from our regional food bank and local retailers. That additional food is essential to our operation and our ability to meet the needs of a constantly growing population of hungry people.
