About This Cause
Lincoln Youth Soccer is a community soccer club in Portland, Oregon, offering Recreational and Competitive opportunities to youth from elementary & middle schools feeding into Lincoln High School and neighboring communities. We work to serve the needs of every individual player and family, regardless of their soccer goals. Because of our unique, community-based model, we are able to reduce the barriers to play by offering fees that are often 50-70% less than the clubs we compete against. In addition we provide generous need-based financial aid that supports players in participating at no cost. A by-product of our commitment to player/child development is that we have teams playing at all levels including the most challenging competitions in the state. At LYS we believe in the power of soccer to change lives, strengthen communities, and improve our world. We are a youth-centric program that values long-term player development over short-term wins. Player joy, freedom, kindness, creativity, confidence, innovation, and problem-solving are nurtured and celebrated. We strive to have our kids play with their classmates, in their neighborhoods, in an unconditionally positive environment. We support and inspire our players in developing a life-long passion for the beautiful game whether they end up playing at the highest levels, coaching the next generation of players, playing in adult leagues or just enjoying a pickup game with friends in the park.
