Ecotrust’s mission is to inspire fresh thinking that creates economic opportunity, social equity, and environmental well-being. Our goal is to foster a natural model of development that creates more resilient communities, economies, and ecosystems here and around the world.
About This Cause
Since 1991, Ecotrust has worked alongside partners from California to Alaska to advance innovative solutions at the intersections of equity, the economy, and the environment, benefiting our region and inspiring the world. Today, the climate crisis and persistent inequity are global challenges. We’re pursuing change starting here, in the places we call home. Rooted in community collaboration and guided by the wisdom of those most impacted, we’ve adapted our goals and approach to meet the needs of our time. To address economic inequity, we work to build broadly shared intergenerational wealth through business support, workforce training, and direct investments. To strengthen climate resilience, we advance lands and waters stewardship practices that are tribally led, racially and economically just, informed by original research, and supported by in-house technical and mapping capacity. Across more than 30 projects, our team mobilizes skills in equitable evaluation, storytelling, convening, software development, and more to uplift and center generative solutions. Within our organization, we are building a culture of belonging through our commitment to equity and anti-racism. At this moment of great urgency, we are working to dismantle and reimagine extractive economies, transforming our relationship with the earth and with each other.
