Mission Statement
GLAPN (Gay & Lesbian Archives of the Pacific Northwest) collects, preserves, and shares material and information relating to the history of sexual minorities in the Pacific Northwest.
About This Cause
GLAPN collects personal and organization papers and photos, and adds them to our collection at Oregon Historical Society. We partner with Portland State University's University Studies Capstone program to collect and save oral histories from the LGBTQ community. We support community organizations in their own historical archiving efforts. We partner with Portland's Q Center in gallery shows and storytelling programs that highlight local LGBTQ History; we maintain a website at GLAPN.org; and we produce the Queer Heroes NW program each June to recognize people making history in the LGBTQ community.
