Mission Statement

JoyRx, the mission delivery of Children's Cancer Association, provides Joy-based programs which create immediate and measurable improvement to the mental and emotional wellness of kids, teens and their families.

About This Cause

JoyRx was founded in 1995 by Regina Ellis and her family, after her daughter Alexandra died of cancer. What started around Regina’s kitchen table has grown to one of the largest children’s health non-profits in the Northwest with annual revenue of nearly $7 million, and award-winning programs that reach children across the nation. For more than 27 years, JoyRx has been delivering its Joy-based programs to seriously ill kids and teens to improve their emotional health and well-being—transforming their pediatric healthcare experience. JoyRx Music, JoyRx Mentorship, and JoyRx Nature programs reduce the loneliness, stress, and perception of pain for children and are offered at no cost to families and hospital partners. Because when a child experiences Joy, their emotional well-being is positively impacted. Simply put: Joy makes sick kids feel better.
