Mission Statement
Mt. Scott Learning Center exists to provide an educational setting tailored to the special needs of students who struggle to fulfill their potential in the traditional school environment.
About This Cause
We envision a learning community where every student feels welcomed, accepted, respected, and supported as they explore their own unique path to graduation and a happy, successful life after high school. Mt. Scott Learning Center (MSLC) opened in 1994 to serve the needs of students struggling to succeed in traditional classrooms. Our school grew along with the growing realization that non-traditional programs can better address the social, economic, and academic challenges many students are experiencing. Today, we enroll 160 students in grades 9-12, with a full core curriculum, elective offerings, monthly service learning, community partnerships, and a unique Transitions Program to help keep students on track for graduation, while also assisting them in planning for careers, post-secondary education, internships, or apprenticeships.
