Mission Statement
The Lawyers’ Campaign for Equal Justice strives to improve the well being of the people of Oregon by supporting access to civil legal services for those who live in poverty. The Campaign develops and distributes resources through fund raising, public education and law related projects.
About This Cause
Founded by Lawyers, Supported by the Legal Community The Campaign for Equal Justice (CEJ) is the support arm of Oregon’s legal aid programs. Oregon lawyers established CEJ 1991, with the mission of making equal access to justice a reality for all Oregonians. CEJ is powered by over 290 lawyer and legal staff volunteers from across Oregon. CEJ activities include: Operating an Annual Fund Drive with the help of 290 volunteer lawyers; Educating lawyers and the community about access to justice and how legal services are delivered in Oregon; Working with lawyer volunteers and bar organizations to increase state and federal funding for legal aid; Growing foundation support for legal aid programs; and Managing an Endowment to preserve the future of legal aid. With support from over 3000 donors, our 2012-13 Annual Fund Drive raised $1.2 million for legal aid! Your support for Oregon’s 90 legal aid attorneys helps provide services in all 36 Oregon counties.
