Mission Statement
The Rose City Softball Association is Oregon's largest LGBTQ sports organization. We welcome all adult slow-pitch softball players, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Established in 1995, the RCSA is a non-profit organization and a member of the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA) and Amateur Sports Alliance of North America (ASANA).
About This Cause
The Rose City Softball Association is an organized non-profit amateur athletic association, whose primary focus is on slow-pitch softball, for all persons regardless of age, race, creed, religion, gender, national origin, sexual orientation or athletic experience or ability, with special emphasis on the participation of the members of the LGBTQ community; Our primary focus is to foster a national and international sports competition by planning, promoting, and carrying out an amateur softball tournament, The Portland Cup; to promote an appreciation of and tolerance for diversity in the greater social community; to promote a healthy lifestyle through physical education and activity; and to nurture interpersonal communication and leadership skills within the membership, utilizing the organizational structure of the League as a societal model. Additionally, RCSA is a member of the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA) and the Amateur Sports Alliance of North America (ASANA). Through these alliances, we are able to offer our members the chance to play once a year at the World Series tournaments. Which allows our members to compete at the national level and to build a larger community/safe space.
