Mission Statement
The Scholls Heights Parent Teacher Organization (SHPTO) is about our children and our community. SHPTO is a nonprofit organization governed to promote the well-being of each student, and to enhance their learning experience at home and at school. Our general purpose is to promote volunteerism and to foster teamwork among parents, teachers, staff, and students so as to provide a healthy and constructive learning environment for each student.
About This Cause
We are the Parent Group of Scholl's Heights Elementary. We work with parents and staff to add education enhancement, classroom support, and community experiences. With our fundraising we are able to give each teacher and specialist a budget for the year as well as a discretionary fund for our Principal. We pay for Art Literacy, Passport (our geography program), Field Trips, Running Club, Field Day, OBOB (Oregon Battle of the Books), International Festival, Watch D.O.G.S (Dad of Great Students who come into the school for a day to provide a male and fatherly presence), class parties, family dance, a community emergency fund, hospitality, staff appreciation, Biz Town, and Carnival. We have also have a budget for grant requests. Our requests are posted on our website at www.shpto.org/grant-requests.
