Mission Statement
Northwest Children's Outreach (NCO) focuses specifically on items for children. There are many other local, successful non-profit organizations that partner with NCO to utilize our goods as the child “arm” of their operation. NCO is the largest all volunteer non-profit in Oregon operating 6 centers in Oregon and Washington serving 9 disparate neighborhoods. NCO's methodology is non-typical and relies on the community for time and goods to provide for children's needs. When funds allow, NCO purchases items still needed to fill orders. Each NCO center is a a vessel to receive and distribute this abundance, share the stories of the children and create a safe environment where volunteers can impact change in the community. Keeping NCO centers open is critical to accomplishing our mission. NCO's goal is to reduce the number of children that go without basic necessities and fill as many orders as possible each week. Keeping NCO centers open is the first priority children in need can continue to be served.
About This Cause
Northwest Children's Outreach (NCO) is 100% volunteer operated with no paid staff. That means that ALL donations go directly to the children who need them. Because NCO is 100% volunteer and most the warehouse space is donated, the cost of "overhead" is less than 4% of the annual budget. NCO's Core Mission is to love ALL children in need with the love of Christ, by providing for their most basic needs such as clothing, diapers, and hygiene products. NCO does not discriminate against any child, regardless of religious, political, orientation or other affiliations. As an ALL volunteer organization, NCO operates in communities where families, churches, schools, businesses and other social organizations volunteer in NCO Centers. NCO encourages families to volunteer together, and NCO loves to share the story of children in need with children who can make a difference in their own neighborhood.
