Must Love Dogs and Comedy, INC. is on a mission to challenge the status quo of traditional comedy shows by supporting animal rescue and wellness, fostering a community of support and inclusivity, and creating space for underrepresented performers.
About This Cause
Must Love Dogs and Comedy, INC. is a 501(c)(3) organization that produces dog-friendly comedy shows for public, private, and corporate audiences. After operating expenses, all of our proceeds from the shows are donated to non-profit animal rescues, animal shelters, and animal wellness initiatives. The shows are typically conducted at dog-friendly spaces, and we have produced shows in New York City, Los Angeles, Virginia, and New Jersey. Our organization books the event venues, hires the performers, and produces and markets the shows. TimeOut NY called us "The happiest place in NYC!" and we were recently featured in a 30-minute episode on the Emmy-Award-winning series Shelter Me on PBS. Our shows raise money through a combination of donations and fees. Individuals who wish to attend our public shows make a donation in an amount of their choosing to our organization. Private and corporate groups pay a set fee based on the specific parameters of the show. Our three main areas of impact are: 1. Animal Rescues/Shelters - we raise money and awareness for dogs in need of adoption and fostering. 2. Diversity & Inclusion - lineups heavily feature Womxn, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and POC Performers AND diversity in talent (i.e., stand-up Comedy, sketch, character, musical performances, etc.) 3. Pet Care - educate pet owners on the latest products/services to best care for their furry pals. As we like to say at our shows, "Get ready to laugh and sniff each others' butts!"
