Mission Statement
Building Bosses Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of youth ages 4–18 across Washington DC and Prince George’s County, Maryland. Our flagship initiative, Boss Up Summer Camp, runs for 10 weeks and immerses children in practical, empowering education across: •STEM and technology •Financial literacy and budgeting •Vocational trades like HVAC, carpentry, and cosmetology •Entrepreneurship and leadership •Field trips, life skills, and mentorship We serve children who often grow up in under-resourced communities with limited access to quality educational opportunities. Many of our students are at risk of falling into cycles of poverty, crime, or dropout. We interrupt that cycle by giving them structure, support, and skills that matter. Donations and sponsorships through Benevity allow us to provide camp tuition, meals, transportation, supplies, and certifications — all at no cost to the families. About This Cause
There are children in Washington DC and Prince George’s County who have never left their neighborhood, never felt safe enough to dream, and never believed their lives could be more than survival. At Building Bosses, we don’t just run a program. We rewrite futures. Through our Boss Up Summer Camp, we take children who are often overlooked, underserved, and underestimated — and we build them into leaders, creators, builders, and dreamers. We teach them skills that schools don’t. How to build a business. Fix an HVAC unit. Balance a budget. Code an app. Lead a team. Speak up. Believe in themselves. We give them mentors who look like them. Field trips they’ll remember forever. Hot meals they might not get at home. And most of all — we give them hope. Many of our kids are from single-parent homes. Some have parents who are incarcerated. Some have experienced violence, homelessness, or hunger. But when they walk through our doors, they are seen, valued, and loved. Every donation doesn’t just send a child to camp. It saves them from the streets. It shows them a world bigger than their block. It tells them: You matter. You are not forgotten. We are here to break cycles. To raise up young people who will become business owners, technicians, innovators, and community leaders. But we cannot do this without you.
