Mission Statement
The James Madison University Duke Battalion Foundation was established in 2023 as an enduring charitable organization to support current and future generations of JMU ROTC cadets with various foundation resources to further program objectives as defined by the University, the US Army, and the JMU ROTC Duke Battalion.
About This Cause
The Foundation supports the following activities: • Scholarship – support deserving (merit/need based and competitively awarded) JMU ROTC cadets with a one time or recurring financial scholarship award to support their continued participation in not only the ROTC program but also ease the burden of University attendance. • Mentorship – support opportunities for alumni to return to JMU on a recurring basis and provide themed leadership and development sessions with the ROTC cadets. These sessions may include keynote speaking events, extended workshops, and multi-day leader development exercises. • Training – support alumni-assisted and/or led additional and specialized training exercises for ROTC cadets in the areas consistent with current US Army and ROTC objectives. • Equipment – support ROTC cadets with additional equipment/gear to enhance their readiness for training events and competitive intercollegiate activities. • Facilities – support ROTC cadets with training/development areas that support confidence, skill, and team building initiatives.
