Mission Statement
Blanchet House has operated in downtown Portland for 70 years, feeding the hungry and homeless of the Portland metro area. In addition to serving millions of meals, we have also transitioned over 10,000 individuals back out into being sober, self-sufficient members of our community. Come serve a meal with us and learn how you can really make a difference in someone's life.
About This Cause
The Blanchet House of Hospitality mission is to feed, clothe, and provide shelter for those in need. Last year alone, the organization served over 317,000 hot meals to the homeless population and provided transitional housing and case management services to men in addiction recovery. In addition to the downtown location, we also have a 62-acre working farm where men in recovery learn woodworking and carpentry skills as an employable trade. They actively work through the 12-Step program with an emphasis on intentional peer support and case management and work toward clean and sober independent living. For 70 years, we have relied on the generosity and support of our volunteers and patrons to help propel this mission of service forward.
