Mission Statement
Since 1958, Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) has benefitted from the support and fundraising of the Tualatin Hills Park Foundation. Our mission is to develop resources to ensure access to recreation for all THPRD residents. The Park Foundation provides resources for special projects the District cannot fund alone.
About This Cause
Today, Washington County is among Oregon's fastest growing and diversifying counties. Moving forward, the Tualatin Hills Park Foundation will play a critical role in raising funds that support THPRD in expanding inclusive and unifying recreational activities for all members of the Park District. THPRD excels at serving the public with available resources, but the needs of the community are greater than those funds. The Foundation exists to provide resources for special projects the district cannot fund. The Foundation can make the impossible possible and can accelerate projects that would otherwise lack funding. The Tualatin Hills Park Foundation, in partnership with THPRD, is proud to launch our Access For All initiative. Supporters of the Tualatin Hills Park Foundation will help ensure a future where people of all backgrounds and abilities have access to the social, emotional, and physical benefits of our Park District. Specifically, Access for All will support programs that expand access for: • Children and adults with physical and/or developmental disabilities • Individuals and families from low-income households • Patrons experiencing language and/or cultural barriers • Those limited by mobility or transportation • Senior citizens and other groups who may face barriers to full participation
