About This Cause

Daly City Youth Health Center (DCYHC) is a community wellness center with the mission to provide safe, respectful, comprehensive health services and education to underserved teens and young adults, preparing them for a healthy adulthood. For 26 years, over 52,000 youth benefited through the four core programs: primary health care, behavioral health counseling, vocational internships, and comprehensive sexual health education. Our target population is low-income, at-risk youth ages 12-24, residing in northern San Mateo County with the majority coming from Brisbane, Broadmoor, Colma, Daly City, Pacifica, San Bruno, and South San Francisco. The DCYHC is a collaborative program of the Jefferson Union High School District and the San Mateo Medical Center. The ethnic breakdown of the youth benefiting from our services is 34% Latino, 28% Filipino, 13% Caucasian, 6% African-American, 5% Chinese, 2% Pacific Islander, 1% Native America, and the remaining 11% are mixed races.
