Mission Statement

Our Mission: We activate individuals, businesses, and communities to work together to address the root causes of poverty and build pathways to prosperity for all Bay Area residents. Our Vision: We envision a Bay Area where all people have equitable opportunities and access to what we need to thrive.

About This Cause

United Way Bay Area (UWBA) inspires and connects people to break the cycle of poverty in the Bay Area by supporting both the short-term needs and long-term systems change. United Way Bay Area (UWBA) fights for financial stability and equal opportunity for residents in eight Bay Area counties, including Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Solano. We do this by addressing the specific needs of our community through 4 main impact areas: Housing Justice, Employment & Career Opportunities, Financial Stability, and Basic Needs, helping more than 250,000 Bay Area residents each year. Together, we can make an impact. Please join us by making your donation to United Way Bay Area. When you give to United Way, you are joining a movement to help struggling Bay Area residents break the cycle of poverty, making our community a place where we all can thrive. Thank You.
