Mission Statement
The San Francisco Integral Yoga Institute (IYI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to practicing and sharing the classical teachings of Yoga as taught by Sri Swami Satchidananda. We strive to live in peace and promote harmony among all people.
About This Cause
The mission of the Integral Yoga Institute of San Francisco is to offer programs and trainings that bring vibrant health to the body and clarity to the mind, in order to realize our full potential and spiritual oneness. Integral Yoga is dedicated to promoting interfaith understanding, teaching that all faiths are equally valid paths to the same essential truth. Founded in 1969, the Institute just celebrated its 50-year anniversary as a sanctuary for peace and well-being and is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The Institute has adapted the practices of Yoga for many under-served populations in the community, including people experiencing homelessness, young people with developmental disabilities, prison inmates, teens, veterans and seniors. Through our Yoga Therapy clinic, we offer healing services and classes to people coping with a range of life-threatening and chronic health challenges. The Institute is committed to translating spiritual values into action and recently launched the Spiritual Action Initiative, to bring together individuals committed to working for social justice for all beings and for the care and healing of our natural world. The Institute re-certified this year as a San Francisco Green Business and will soon install solar panels to promote green energy. Donations help support the regular maintenance required for our facilities and sustain our ability to serve the community in multiple ways and offer programs that make Yoga accessible to a variety of under-served populations.
