Mission Statement

Family Bridges, Inc. is a non-profit organization designed to serve the elderly, seniors, immigrants and disadvantaged in the East Bay area. With a focus on the Asian community, Family Bridges includes five major programs that are designed to promote independence through information and learning. It is our goal to prevent many of the disadvantaged individuals in our community from becoming unemployed, institutionalized or isolated because of language or cultural barriers.

About This Cause

Since its inception in 1968, Family Bridges has been at the forefront of providing services for monolingual and limited-English proficient (LEP) Asian immigrants. Our bilingual services include the programs listed below. We serve approximately 10,000 unduplicated clients a year. 95% of our clients are Asian LEPs. Family Bridges’ programs are supported by funding from private foundations, government, and fundraising efforts. PROGRAMS: Hong Fook Center and Hong Fook Harrison Center (康福園-成人日間護理中心) provide services to over 500 frail adults, seniors, and their family members. The goal of these services is to encourage independence, thereby preventing the need for premature institutionalization. Our staff is trained to provide care for a multicultural population, including Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese. 275-14th Street, Oakland, CA 94612 Tel: 510/839-9673 Fax: 510/839-9674 1388 Harrison Street, Oakland, CA 94612 Tel: 510/302-0460 Fax: 510/302-0466 Hong Lok Senior Centers (耆英康樂中心) are two drop-in senior centers, both of which offer a continuum of care for seniors aged 60 and over.
